CIH

Formed in 1916, CIH has devoted its work to one simple purpose: to ensure everyone has a decent, affordable home in a thriving, safe community.

As the professional body for housing, our work is rooted in three main objectives – to support the housing sector to learn, improve and influence. The activities we carry out centre around providing individuals and organisations with opportunities to develop their knowledge, driving up standards and skills within the housing sector, and championing housing with decision-makers and the media to shape the future of our industry.

We are also a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation, with education at the core of our charitable status. This means that the money we make is put back into the organisation and funds the activities we carry out to support housing work.

Our diverse and growing membership includes professionals of all levels, who work in both the public
