Cleaver Fulton Rankin is one of Northern Ireland’s leading corporate law firms combining over 100 years of heritage with an innovative approach.  We’re conveniently located in Belfast city centre and employ 17 directors, 12 associates, 15 solicitors and 11 trainees and paralegals with a total staff of approximately 100 people. Our main practice areas include company and commercial law, corporate finance, litigation, property law, projects and private client services. We are also well known for our specialist work in Northern Ireland in construction law, intellectual property, employment, banking, planning and environmental law, corporate recovery, IT and charity law.

We provide a full legal service to both commercial and private clients. In particular we have extensive experience in advising national and local private companies, developers, financial institutions, public institutions and quasi- public bodies, not for profit organisations and other government funded organisations.

Cleaver Fulton Rankin has established links with many City of London law firms and other national and regional firms. Also, although entirely independent, we have an association with Dublin commercial law practice Matheson and so provide an all island service for our clients undertaking business throughout Ireland. We are also a member of the International Lawyers Network which gives us access to a worldwide network of commercial law firms.

Our commitment to client service and reputation for providing high quality legal advice is well known. Our quality accreditation has recently been upgraded to ISO 9001/2015 LQS, the scope of which covers “the management and administration of the firm’s legal services”.

Our staff benefit from a high level of training and resources with online legal research tools and document management systems. Our strong investment in legal practice technology ensures that we are able to deliver a direct and state-of-the-art service to our clients.

Corporate Social Responsibility
At Cleaver Fulton Rankin we are more than just a law firm, we believe in conducting our business in a socially responsible manner, to contribute to the communities in which we operate, to minimise our impact on the environment and to respect the needs of employees, clients and other stakeholders.
We were delighted that our Corporate Social Responsibility work has been recognised externally and we recently won the Best Community Contribution Award at the 2014 LawNet Awards.

Supporting the Community
At Cleaver Fulton Rankin we engage all our employees to help charitable causes both financially and in a practical way. Each year our employees choose a charity of choice to support for a one year period ensuring that all funds raised remain in the local community
Having raised over £100,000 for Cancer Focus, the Alzheimer’s Society, The Prince’s Trust, Northern Ireland Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support, this year the firm is supporting Barnardo’s Northern Ireland by hosting bake sales and dress down days and organising a range of events such as a Pirates of the Caribbean Charity Cinema Night and Casino Night.

Enhancing Employability
The firm believe in creating a knowledgeable and skilled future workforce in Northern Ireland by enhancing employability through our work experience programmes, summer placement scheme and solicitor trainee programme. Cleaver Fulton Rankin solicitors also regularly present to students at University and senior school level to develop interest in the legal market and the career opportunities available within a law firm.We were recently announced as a finalist in the Belfast Business Awards 2017 for ‘Best Company to Work For’.

Reducing Environmental Impact
Cleaver Fulton Rankin is committed to reducing the impact of our day-to-day business on the environment and conserve natural resources. We have embedded environmental practices throughout the firm to minimise waste and maximise recycling.
For example:
• All computers go into sleep mode after seven minutes and turn off after two hours.
• Photocopiers go into hibernation mode after 15 minutes out of use.
• Commitment to recycling – all paper, plastics, glass, cardboard toner cartridges and batteries within the company.
• Lights switched off in areas not in constant use (Meeting rooms, toilets)
• Cycling and walking as a mode of transport to work to reduce carbon emissions
• Assets are reused wherever possible and where assets are beyond economical repair, they are recycled in accordance with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive
