Donard Fold win Best Kept Award

Published on: 11 October, 2017

Congratulations to Donard Fold, a supported housing scheme for over 55s in Newcastle Co. Down.

The scheme which is owned by Radius Housing, beat off stiff competition from across Northern Ireland to secure the Best Kept Sheltered Housing Scheme 2017, which is awarded by the Northern Ireland Local Amenity Council.

The judges commented on the ‘air of peacefulness’ that fills the beautiful flower bed, making the garden one that was hard to leave!
Pictured above at the awards presentation on October 10 are: Clark Baillie, Chief Executive of NI Housing Executive; Joe Mahon, Patron of the NI Amenity Council; Michelle Hatfield, Human Resources and Corporate Responsibility Director at Belfast City Airport; Doreen Muskett, President of the NI Amenity Council; and Des Neill, Jean Birch, Cheryl Foster (Co-ordinator), Peter Dunn and Maurice Ferris with their award.

The Best Kept City, Town, Village and Housing Area Awards is the grand finale of the Best Kept Awards initiative, and is a fantastic opportunity for schools, health and social care facilities, housing areas and towns, villages and cities across Northern Ireland to encourage local volunteering and civic pride in local areas.
