Dear EditorRecognising voluntary board member's contribution during Volunteer Week 2010
For over 40 years the housing association movement has been working throughout Northern Ireland providing decent affordable homes to members of our community. It is thanks to the many Voluntary Board Members who support social housing development in Northern Ireland that our movement remains strong and thriving.
Our Voluntary Board Members play a vital role in guiding the movement to ensure high quality, sustainable social housing is available. Through many challenging times each volunteer has made a difference, whether to an individual, their community or the environment.
During Volunteer Week next week, 1-7 June 2010, we want to thank those who have contributed so much to our housing association members. We are also calling for more individuals to join NIFHA's register of people interested in becoming Voluntary Board Members for a housing association.
