Ulster Community Investment Trust (UCIT)

Ulster Community Investment Trust (UCIT) is a charity that was set up in 2001 to provide loan finance and support to the community and social economy sector. During this time, UCIT has lent in excess of £45 million to over 300 third sector organisations including Housing Associations, Almshouse charities and other community-based organisations providing specialist housing in areas of need. Our Housing customers include Filor Housing Association, Lisburn Community Self Build, Charles Shiels Charity, Foyle Women’s Aid, NIFHA and Elim Trust Corporation.

Loans are available for:

  • Construction of new housing
  • Refurbishment or repairs of housing stock
  • Renewables and Energy efficiency
  • Debt restructuring
  • Working capital
  • Bridging finance
