NIFHA’s Social Housing Practitioners Conference
Housing practitioner staff will consider the many challenges and opportunities ahead for housing associations at NIFHA’s inaugural one-day Social Housing Practitioner Conference at the Park Avenue Hotel in Belfast on 24th March.
With pressure from welfare reform and the sector's ever-changing political and economic landscape, there are many changes on the horizon for housing practitioner staff.
The Social Housing Practitioners Conference will explore many practical and prominent topics including welfare reform, hoarding, anti-social behaviour and maintenance. To view the full programme, click here.
Our expert line-up includes local and UK-wide speakers. Helen Barton, Lead Advisor with Highland Community Resources, will explore the impact welfare reform has had on the Scottish social housing sector, offering insights for Northern Ireland. Jon Metcalfe and John Kavanagh from the Liverpool Housing Trust will discuss their experience of dealing with hoarding.
Kevin Bloomfield from the Housing Executive and Kevin O'Neill from the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service will jointly explore the safety challenges facing social housing and local experts from Apex, Fold, Clanmil, Connswater and many other local organisations will give a sector overview as well as practical advice on a wide range of frontline issues.
The conference is aimed at practitioner staff and will be useful for Housing Officers, Maintenance Officers, Development Officers and Community Support Workers, as well as managers in these operational areas.
During what promises to be an action-packed programme, there will also be unique networking opportunities with colleagues and exhibitors as well as the chance to get involved in in-depth and interactive sub plenary sessions.
