This workshop will explain what steps your organisation needs to take to ensure compliance with the new data protection regime which will be enforced from May 2018

At this workshop Julie Anne Clarke & Chiara Hutton, (Elliott Duffy Garrett) will clarify the new provisions, identify the most significant changes and explain the steps you and your organisation should be taking to ensure GDPR compliance.

• Background to GDPR
• How is GDPR different to the Data Protection Act 1998?
• Key definitions under GDPR
• Data Protection Principles
• Rights of Data Subjects
• Mandatory Data Protection Officers – when do you need one?
• Data breach notification and communication
• Transferring data outside the organisation
• Practical steps to take now to prepare for GDPR compliance
