John McLean, Fold’s Chief Executive speaking at the launch of this partnership commented,

“Every year our tenants and staff run fundraising events. Fold’s staff were delighted to nominate Macmillan Cancer Support as our nominated charity for the next 2 years.  With 60,000 people in Northern Ireland living with cancer, we are proud to support Macmillan who provide such a vital support service.”

John continued,

“We are looking forward to raising much needed funds through a host of events from Dragon Boat Racing to Zip-Lining across the Lagan. We also look forward to the challenge of taking part in the Largest Simultaneous Coffee Morning in Northern Ireland.  This key Macmillan event will see tenants, staff, friends and family stopping for a cuppa at one of our many Folds across Northern Ireland on the 27 September.”

Joanne Young, Fundraising Manager, Macmillan Cancer Support said:

“We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen by Fold as their charity partner for the next two years.  The enthusiasm already from staff members has been overwhelming and they are all raring to go.  We already have individual Fold’s throughout Northern Ireland taking part in Easter raffles and coffee mornings and this is just the beginning.”

“Their support is particularly welcomed as more and more people are being diagnosed with cancer. Each day 889 people in the UK are told that they have cancer and our aim is that no one should face cancer alone. All the money raised will go towards making sure that people and their families in Northern Ireland who are living with cancer will have the support of Macmillan.”
