Habinteg hosted a hugely successful Community Involvement Day in the prestigious environs of the Long Gallery at Parliament Buildings on 24th October.
Host for the event, Nichola Mallon MLA, gave the Welcome address at the start of a morning’s interactive series of presentations and workshops. The sessions, led by Habinteg community involvement officers Melanie Rintoul and Margaret McLaughlin, looked back over Habinteg’s recent community involvement activities as well as promoting a future calendar of events. They also encouraged greater and wider levels of community engagement and exploration of the many different ways residents can become involved in activities.
This free event, open to all Habinteg residents, was attended by people of all ages from across Northern Ireland.
A spokesperson for Habinteg said: “We were delighted with the turnout and the level of thought-provoking discussion throughout the morning and on into the lunch which followed.”
Many residents stayed on after the event for a public tour of Parliament buildings.
Thanks to key sponsor, Nichola Mallon MLA and also to cross party sponsors, Andy Allen MLA and Robbie Butler MLA.
Well done to all involved.
