St Patrick’s day proved lucky for Clanmil’s Jonathon Boggs as he won Finance Director of the year at the Housing Associations National Accountancy Awards.
The awards, now in their third year, were launched by the National Housing Federation to recognise excellence in housing association finance.
The HANAAs celebrate the most innovative and progressive finance teams and individuals who are rising to considerable financial challenges, while continuing to provide great customer service, financial stability and excellent conditions for investment.
Northern Ireland had strong representation at the ceremony. Nominated alongside Jonathon Boggs for Finance Director of the Year were Michael Rafferty from Oaklee Trinity and Roderick Canning from Apex. Triangle Housing Association was nominated for Financial Team of the Year. NIFHA would like to congratulate all of the shortlisted nominees from the Northern Ireland sector.
Jennie Donald, NIFHA Deputy Chief Executive who attended the event, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Jonathan, Clanmil and the sector in Northern Ireland. Housing associations have been demonstrating considerable expertise and innovation in finance and investment over the last year and this was reflected in the four shortlisted HANA Award nominations.
“This event was a real opportunity to raise the profile of what is being delivered by our sector on a national stage and I’m delighted that this excellence in financial management and investment was recognised by the judges. Our congratulations to Jonathan and colleagues in Clanmil on his success.”
In naming Jonathan Finance Director of the Year the judges commented; “This award is designed to honour a truly exceptional finance director. The contribution of an individual heading a high performing team can make the critical difference between good and outstanding service. The thing that made Jonathan stand out, was his wide range of achievements for the housing sector.”

Jonathan joined Clanmil as Finance Director in 1998.
