NIFHA members celebrate prestigious awards

A number of NIFHA members have been recognised for their contributions to local communities at a prestigious awards ceremony.

Winners of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Housing Awards 2016 were announced at Belfast City Hall. The awards aim to showcase excellence and recognise the people who make a real difference in communities across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Nicola McCrudden, CIH director for Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland said: “These awards exhibit the excellent work being done by organisations and individuals to support people in housing need in our communities. This year the standard was extremely high and we have been impressed by the innovation shown by the housing industry in what is very challenging times. I am confident that the achievements of the winners and finalists will inspire others to deliver the best possible services for tenants and communities.”

Congratulating the winners Social Development Lord Morrow MLA said: “These awards recognise the broader role that housing plays in building and sustaining communities, and celebrate the fantastic work being carried out by housing professionals across Northern Ireland. My congratulations to all the award winners, you have all made a significant contribution to improving the lives of our social housing tenants.”
